For Tongariro 2019 we will be welcoming each cardiothoracic unit in New Zealand to submit a interesting case related to valvular heart surgery. The structure of the presentation will be such that it promotes intense discussion throughout the case.
The structure will be:
Presenter: - Presenting complaint and clinical assessment.
Audience: - Discussion on further investigations.
Presenter: - Investigations performed and results.
Audience: - Discussion on diagnosis, management options and operative strategy.
Presenter: - Management and outcome of case.
Audience: - Questions and closing comments.
Each of the cases will be marked objectively by the audience and the winner will receive a prize. The Prize will be awarded at the Annual Dinner on 23rd March 2019.
