I completed my nursing training in the Waikato in 2010 and have been here ever since. I started out in the Cardiothoracic and Vascular ward before embarking on the RNFSA role. Postgraduate study has been a major part of my nursing career having completed a Masters of Nursing (MNurs) at the end of 2016 with a strong focus of the RNFSA in cardiac practice.
The benefits of having an RNFSA apart of a surgical team means that new/junior staff can have one on one teaching time learning the basics of knot tying right the way through to conduit harvest. We support our surgical colleagues both in and out of theatre and are a tight knit team. |
